i-tec MySafe USB-C Gen. 2/USB 3.0, external enclosure for 2 x 2.5 drives SATA HDD / SSD is a case for up to two 2.5 SATA HDD / SSD disks for connection to a computer, laptop or tablet via USB-C interface or USB 3.0 (USB 3.0 cable for USB-C and USB 3.0 for USB 3.0). The USB connection provides fast and easy data transfer up to 10 Gbps via USB-C and up to 5 Gbps via USB 3.0. The USB-C interface is compatible with Thunderbolt 3. The durable aluminum housing provides efficient heat dissipation and protection for HDD / SSD drives.
One of the biggest advantages of this case is RAID support, which will either allow a high level of data protection, or a very high data write speed, or to create a huge disk (consisting of two hard drives) RAID capabilities (if two hard drives are used) :
- RAID 0: very fast data writing speed (the housing is capable of performing interlaced recording on both hard drives).
- RAID 1: high level of data protection (the enclosure performs duplication, writes identical data to both hard disks, and in the event of failure of one of the hard disks, neither data nor access to the data will be lost).
- JBOD / Standalone: in the system the housing is seen as two independent disks.
