The NMC network card allows users to control the UPS through LAN, Intranet or remotely, via the Internet. The UPS can be controlled by SNMP agents, HTTP website interface or a Telnet terminal.

The NMC network card is connected directly to LAN through an RJ-45 connector. For this purpose no serial ports need to be occupied and no separate management software needs to be used for each individual UPS. Thanks to the applied system of protective devices, the access to the UPS's parameters and controls can be obtained from any PC, provided a correct password for reading is given. This allows Ethernet administrators to quickly react to current needs related to guaranteed power supply, from any place in the company.

If there is a fault in the UPS's output or other events have taken place, the management card can be used to safely shut down the server's or the workstation's operating system, thanks to the System Protect Software (SPS) that can be installed under a variety of operating system. The system can be safely shut down if events such as these take place: incorrect status of the UPS's output, low battery level, overload or excessive temperature of the UPS, scheduled shut down, etc. The user may select conditions that, when triggered, order the card to inform the SPS about the event, in which case the SPS will safely shut the operating system down, as configured.
